Capos Head to Jacksonville to take on Duval Raiders May 24
Palm Beach, FL — The Palm Beach Capos are playoff-bound—but just barely. After a grueling, injury-ravaged season that ended with a 3-7 record and no late-season wins, the Capos have secured a postseason berth through tiebreakers in a crowded bottom half of the standings.
Now, they face one of the league’s most dangerous opponents in the first round: the 6-2 Duval Raiders.
The two teams will square off this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Normandy Sports Complex in Jacksonville, where the Raiders will host their first playoff game behind the strength of one of the league’s top-ranked defenses.
“It’s not how you get in—it’s what you do when you get there,” said Capos head coach Brent Bargerstock. “This team has taken every hit imaginable this year. Injuries, losses, setbacks—everything. But we’re still standing, and we’re going to show up ready to fight.”
The Capos were mired in a six-game losing streak and never found traction on either side of the ball, largely due to the constant lineup changes caused by a relentless run of injuries. With limited time for cohesion, the team struggled to build any momentum throughout the season.
On the other side, the Duval Raiders have been a model of consistency—and intimidation. At 6-2, their record speaks for itself, but it’s their defense that has turned heads all year. Fast, physical, and disciplined, Duval’s defense has smothered opponents with relentless pressure and tight coverage, often swinging games single-handedly.
“They win games with defense. It’s that simple,” Bargerstock said. “If we don’t come in ready to scrap for every yard, we’ll be in trouble.”
While the Raiders enter as heavy favorites, the Capos have embraced the underdog role all season. With nothing to lose, they’ll try to defy the odds one more time.
Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. at Normandy Sports Complex. The road to the championship starts here—for one team, it ends for the other.
